New Center for Cultures and Technologies of Collecting

Digitalisierung ist die Methode der Wahl für die Analyse, Rekonstruktion und bildliche Darstellung anthropologischer Funde. Hier am Beispiel der „Wachtberg Zwillinge“.

The center at the University of Continuing Education Krems, headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Anja Grebe, gives new impetus to cultural heritage research and bundles years of research activity. It is concerned both with the development and preservation of collection holdings and with mediation, which increasingly makes use of modern technologies. Thus, visitors are “picked up at home,” and exhibition objects are made accessible by means of digitally supported visualizations.

One of these research projects is “Digital reconstruction of anthropological finds - a pilot study on the 30,000-year-old double burial of newborns at the Wachtberg in Krems” and was funded by GFF NÖ (formerly NFB) in the course of the “FTI-Call 2017: Digitization”.
